Technology Student Association (SMSTSA)
1st Period Only
This course is an advanced application of the Engineering Design Process and other applications. It explores various manufacturing-based career clusters and technologies. Students will be tasked with solving complex problems and utilizing software and other technologies that may fall outside of the explicit scope of this course. The intent of this course is to function as a business, with the Chapter Officers leading the way. TSA Competitive Events represent challenges put forth by potential clients, and it is the organization's goal to provide the best possible solutions to our customers.
Students taking this course should be prepared to supplement in-class activities with self-directed learning.

Fundamentals of Manufacturing and Robotics (FM/R)
This course is a project-based introduction to various manufacturing-based career fields and technologies. Students will use a modified problem-solving process (known as the Engineering Design Process) to complete complex engineering tasks and solve real-world issues. This class is intended for any student who has an interest in technology, from 6th to 8th grade, and may be taken multiple times, though enrollment in SMS TSA is highly encouraged for returning students.
Basic Materials for all courses
The SMSTSA an FM/R courses are designed to minimize waste by functioning as nearly paperless classrooms by utilizing Office365.
