This year Sarasota Middle School’s Technology Student Association chapter will have the opportunity to represent their school and participate in multiple levels of this academic competition tailored towards furthering their ambitions in various career fields. These students demonstrate outstanding enthusiasm for success and need support from the community to meet their educational goals.
The Technology Student Association (TSA) enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions, and related programs. TSA is accelerating student achievement and supporting teachers by providing engaging opportunities to develop STEM skills. Each year students create exhibits, documents, models, websites, and innovative designs with strict design tolerances that simulate meeting the requirements of working in a professional setting. Students will compete in competitions such a designing a CO2 Powered Dragster, creating a Children’s Story, and even designing a sustainable model home in the Off the Grid challenge. Once students are selected at the district level, they are in need of your help to go on to the Florida TSA State Conference and Competition, a 4-day event in Orlando, FL. From there, they can earn their entry into the National TSA Conference in Orlando FL. Student participation in the State and National TSA Conference depends on whether Sarasota Middle School can raise $12,000.00 in sponsorships for contest housing, registration, travel, and meals. We are hoping you are able to assist Sarasota Middle School students with part of these costs. Your support is truly valued and appreciated. We strongly believe participating in SMS TSA contributes to these students’ education in a way few experiences can. The competition is an exceptional opportunity for students to hone their research, critical thinking, and analytical skills while meeting students from across the state and nation Thank you, |
